This custom outdoor deck was designed for continuous daily use with year round amenities. First we started with a stout foundation that could support a roof strong enough for an upper deck. Large steel posts were mounted in the foundation, engineered beyond code requirements to withstand our many California earthquakes, and then encased with wood for a clean finished look. We then formed the deck with in-floor heating and then poured it with color and gave it a washed finish to look 60 years old. The overhead structure was wired for a ceiling fan and speakers, with both electrical and gas accommodations for two possible future overhead heaters and then covered with a beautiful select Douglass fir vertical grain kiln dried lumber which was stained and finished to withstand years to come.
- Step lighting was added prior to the concrete pour in order to create a safe and beautiful evening ambiance.
- We rebuilt the existing fountain providing a new pump setting, the owner chosen tile, and remounting the water spout.
